French Toast & Strawberries

We love everything French -- from fries to dressing. But nothing quite compares to the great taste of French toast, especially when served with fresh strawberries... or any other fruit for that matter. Bon appetit.


French Toast & Strawberries

Ingredients

For 3 people

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1/4 cup(s) butter
  • 1/4 cup(s) reduced fat cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup(s) strawberry all-fruit spread or preserves
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup(s) milk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla

Directions

Slice the bread diagonally into 1/2 inch slices; use the bread, cream cheese and fruit spread to make cheese and fruit "sandwiches" and set aside. Whisk eggs, milk and vanilla in a flat, shallow dish and melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then dip each “sandwich" into the egg mixture and place in the skillet; cook until browned on each side.
