When the weather gets cool, it's time to change your ideas about ways to spend time with your mate. Gone are the days of getting wet and wild on the beach or having a sun-soaked picnic. But fall also offers a ton of opportunities to make great dates. There's lots to do in autumn, with the added bonus of having the opportunity to cuddle up to stay warm! First, why not continue those picnics...with a little tweak? Instead of serving up all those warm-weather foods, bring some comfort food, like a thermos of your favorite hot coffee, tea or even cider. Grab some confections from the coffee shop, or bake up some seasonal favorites like banana or pumpkin bread to munch on. Fall means college football, so why not take in a game? Root for your favorite teams with your man and enjoy some fabulous tailgating foods like bratwurst, chips and dips, or whatever you like.
The perks of fall include outdoor activities in which the two of you aren't drenched in sweat, so take advantage of the cooler weather to take a hike or take in the sights of the city. Another awesome autumn activity is the festivals, fairs and carnivals that come to town. Enjoy screaming your heads off on a ride, compete in midway games, or shop for crafts at these great events. If you're lucky enough to live near apple orchards, go pick some healthy apples and bring them home to bake into a pie or crisp. And finally, Halloween might be the greatest opportunity in the fall for a fun-filled date. With all the haunted houses and hayrides, there will be lots of chances for you and your mate to scream your heads off and jump into one another's arms. Instead of lamenting the exit of summer, get out there and enjoy even more opportunities to hang out and get close.
