If the baby is due in the summer, for example, you may not want to register for newborn-sized fleece sleep sacks. Likewise, a baby who'll be six months old in December might need an appropriately sized sleep sack. Consider how you will feed the baby - breastfeeding moms might appreciate a breast pump, accessories and nursing pillows. Formula is expensive, so it may be a good idea for moms who know they'll be formula-feeding the baby to put it on the registry. The baby will need bathing items, like a tub, towels and toiletries, plus those needed for diapering. Diapers may not seem like a "fun" gift to receive, but they are always necessary. First-aid items like a rectal thermometer and humidifier are a must. There are certain gifts that are popular to give expectant moms, whether they're on the registry or not - including bibs, dressy clothing and blankets - so consider that before putting them on the list.
