When you are out with your partner, it's not always easy to put on a happy face, especially when he or she has rubbed you the wrong way. A night out can quickly turn ugly when loved ones turn on each other. It can happen to those of us in even the healthiest relationships. Just we are passionate in our affection, we are often equally as passionate in our hostility. Unfortunately, PDA, as in public displays of anger, can often make family, friends, acquaintances or even complete strangers extremely uncomfortable when they witness things go from good to bad in an instant. When you sense the tides are changing, take action immediately. The first rule of thumb -- don't let it escalate. If you notice a conversation is turning aggressive, change the subject. Although you may be tempted to settle the dispute on the spot, save it for later when you are in the privacy of your own home.
