Barbecue Rib Sauce
Looking for a barbecue sauce recipe that's sure to stick to your ribs? This homemade sauce will perfectly glaze your chicken, ribs or other slabs of meat. Spice it up with extra chile powder and cayenne for extra bite.
Ingredients
For 4 people
- 6 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 ketchup
- 2 tablespoon(s) butter
- 1 ounce(s) prepared Dijon-style mustard
- 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon(s) honey
- 1 tablespoon(s) ground New Mexico chile powder
- 1 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix in the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 15 minutes. Then add the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, honey, cayenne pepper, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.
2. Simmer for 60 more minutes, then pour mixture to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
You can use it on the side for your ribs, or baste onto the ribs during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
