Garlic Crostini
You get dressed up for dinner, so why shouldn't your bread get dressed too? Take a few minutes and turn ordinary bread in to an extraordinary appetizer. Fresh basil, plum tomatoes and mozzarella drizzled with a good olive oil provide the flavor for a wonderful Italian delight.
Ingredients
For 6 people
- 1 French baguette
- 2 tablespoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 plum tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup(s) black olives, sliced
- 1 dash salt, to taste
- 1 dash pepper, to taste
- 10 fresh basil leaves for garnish
Directions
Slice baguette into 1/4 inch slices. Brush slices with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano. Combine garlic, tomatoes, black olives and salt and pepper together and mix well. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of baguette and top with tomato mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Serve warm.
