Hot Stuffed Dates
Make it a hot date tonight. These Gorgonzola-filled dates are coated with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese and then tumbled in Italian ham. One taste of this date, and everyone will be asking for your number.
Ingredients
For 6 people
- 18 pitted medjool dates, split
- 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 6 ounce(s) gorgonzola cheese
- 1 cup(s) seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup(s) parmesan reggiano cheese, grated
- 6 ounce(s) gorgonzola cheese
- 1/2 pound(s) Italian ham, thinly sliced
Directions
Preheat oven 400 degrees. Using 1 tbsp. olive oil, rub each date to coat. Next gently open each date without breaking the spilt. Set aside. In a medium size bowl combine 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs with 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese; stir together and set aside. On a cutting board, lay out Italian ham slices. Add to date center 1-1 1/2 tsp. of Gorgonzola cheese. Gently press the date back together and roll Gorgonzola stuffed date in breadcrumb mixture. Dates will grab a bit of crumb mixture. Wrap each date with a piece of Italian ham. Set on parchment lined cookie sheet. Repeat until finished, and then bake. Cooking time 10-12 minutes.
