There's nothing worse than looking like you stuck your finger in a socket within minutes of doing your hair. But never fear - it happens to the best of us. Fighting the frizz can be an exercise in futility. Unfortunately, frizzy hair isn't your fault - it's your ancestors. Many experts believe that frizzy hair is hereditary. The thicker the hair, the rougher and coarser it can feel. The good news is that there are some simple remedies for combating the frizz. First, it's important to note the cause. Frizzy hair is lacking moisture. This is often caused by cuticle damage to the layers. People with curly hair have a more difficult time getting moisture to remain in hair for a great deal of time because the hair is often lifted from the cuticle. Humidity can also play a major role in making hair appear frizzy. To treat frizzy hair, use a deep conditioner once a week that contains either aloe vera, vitamin E or panthenol. Another helpful tip is to gently squeeze out moisture with a towel when you're out of the shower. Don't rub the hair dry as it will cause hair to break off. If you're going to blow dry hair, use a soft, natural-bristle round brush to finish drying hair. The latest rage these days is the Brazilian Blowout, which can be done at salons. The product eliminates frizz and leaves hair looking shiny and healthy. The Brazilian Blowout puts keratin and protein back into hair. Not to split hairs, but expect to pay a hefty price for the 90-minute procedure. Depending on the length of hair, it can set you back $200.
