Sometimes it takes the help of a professional to get through these trying times. Have a support group in place whether it's friends or family. Always know there is someone to whom you can reach out when you are really struggling. Make sure you take care of yourself by eating healthy, exercising and getting plenty of sleep. Good physical health and good mental health go hand in hand. Try and start a new routine for a sense of normalcy. Consider taking up a new hobby whether it's joining a book club, becoming part of a running club or signing up for a cooking class. Branch out and open your mind to new experiences. Last but not least, make an attempt not to dwell on the past. When you start focusing on all of the positive aspects of your partner, remind yourself of his shortcomings. Bottom line - time heals all wounds. Give yourself plenty of it.
