Examine your cooking habits to see if healthy substitutions, like using nonstick spray instead of butter, can be made. If you don't cook much, then try to cook for the family three nights a week or simply replace one fast-food meal per week with one home-cooked meal to start. Limit computer and television time, and suggest family activities that focus on fitness, like playing ball or taking a hike. Take the focus off weight loss and fitness, and focus more on fun and family time. Good habits will follow!
