If your scarf is less bulky and still long, then try folding it in half around your neck and pulling the loose ends through the loop. A thin, pretty scarf made of light material - that you might wear in warmer weather - can simply be looped around the neck and edges allowed to hang down either side of the chest. A hot spring look on runways is square silk scarves doubled up and tied around the neck in the back, gaucho-style. Not ready to take the plunge and wear scarves yet?
