Breakfast On The Go
If you prefer your sandwiches untoasted, opt for a regular peanut butter or peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You can even take a page from the King's book and add a sliced banana to your sandwich. If a pb & j isn't your idea of happiness, keep a bag of tortillas in your fridge and a package of Canadian bacon. Lay the tortilla flat on a piece of paper towel, top with the Canadian bacon and a slice of reduced fat cheese and place in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, just long enough to heat everything through and melt the cheese. You can top off your tortilla with a few slices of tomato, spinach or just wrap and go.
You can also find microwave oatmeal, which makes for a yummy and nutritious meal. All you need to do is pour the oatmeal in a bowl, top it off with water or fat-free milk and slide it into the microwave while you're getting ready for your day.
If you have a little extra time in the morning, try a healthy smoothie. Add your favorite fruits to the blender, a handful of ice and some low-fat yogurt or milk. Let it blend for a few minutes and you'll have a great drink that fills you up until lunchtime.
